One can learn to navigate
Difficult emotions
Like one navigates the sea.
If no one has ever given you a map
Or knowledge of the stars
It’s no wonder
Finding a direction
Can be difficult.
We can learn
Each of us
The star charts to our psyches
We can captain our own vessel
We can plot our own course
We can put mast to sail
Oar to water
We can temper the flame
And tighten the grip of fear
Ships in harbor
Safely sit
While their purpose languishes
We were not meant to hide away
Stuck in paralyzing thought.
We can learn to chart the sea
Of our own mind
Captain our purpose
To lucid
From distraught.
